We are an accredited training centre and workplace provider looking for a senior Accounting Officer with a history in managing accounting trainees. We're looking for an individual that will contribute to teaching and mentoring our clerks.

Education and experience:

NQF 7 degree in related field

SAIPA, SAICA/AGA(SA) certification

Accounting experience

Management experience at least 3 years

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

Ensure that all financial reports including but not limited to the monthly accounts and the preparation of audit files are prepared accurately and submitted on time on due dates, procedure manuals are adequately prepared and maintained regularly and are at the required standard.

Accounting:

Applying principles of accounting to review and analyse financial information, prepare financial reports including financial statements, strategic plans,

budgets and financial forecasts, and variances from forecasts and the interpretations thereof and perform reconciliations.

Taxation:

Ensure that all related tax and statutory affairs of the different companies are in order including but not limited to ensuring that VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL, Income Tax, Dividend Tax, FSB levies are duly submitted and paid for in time and proper cash planning is maintained to meet all our tax commitments.

Systems:

Ability to work within a strictly automated environment. Ensure integrity in systems mapping, Generation of appropriate and accurate management reports.

Duties:

Tax, and financial regulatory and reporting requirements (IFRS).

Review of Monthly Bookkeeping and Vat reports and recons

Review of VAT, PAYE, Income Tax returns

Review of general ledger reconciliations and processing

Management accounts

Payroll Administration

Drafting Financial Statements for Companies, Trusts and Close Corporations

Reviewing Working paper files

Efiling maintenance

Client relationship management.

Work quickly to address and resolve client queries.

Management of junior staff members.

Weekly management meetings with directors.
